Better Fuel = Better Performance

We recommend drinking a green smoothie every day for optimal athletic performance.  Drink your greens smoothie first thing in the morning, before anything else, and you will never miss a day.  If you make your smoothie fresh it will take only 5-10 minutes and you’ll receive the greatest amount of nutrients possible as our bodies absorb fresh foods quickly. Remember, better fuel = better performance.  This applies to race cars and to human bodies, if you want to outperform the competition, this is a great place to start adding in the competitive edge.  Most athletes hate eating healthy with a passion, if you’re one of the few that decides you will do it even if you hate it, you just decided to take  your game to the next level. 

The American Cancer Society recommends that we eat 5-9 servings of fruit and vegetables each day to prevent cancer and other diseases. Green smoothies are a quick and convenient way to get your vegetables and dark, leafy greens without tasting them much (adding almond, cashew, or peanut butter usually helps add flavor). The fruit helps mask the veggie flavor as well, so even though all you taste the fruit, you are still consuming a healthy dose of spinach, kale, etc.  

Green smoothies are rich with chlorophyll which some natural health experts say enhances the immune system, purifies the blood, and rejuvenates the body.  It is one of the main reasons why these delicious drinks are touted by experts as being an excellent source of energy for the human body. Unlike fruit juices, green smoothies use the whole fruits and vegetables so that you get all of the fiber and nutrition. Fiber is essential for good colon health and it keeps your bowels in working order. These smoothies naturally combat constipation and help promote regularity. 

Green smoothies are packed with nutrients and are very low in calories. They contain vitamins, minerals, healthy carbohydrates, fiber, and low-fat whole foods you need to lose weight quickly, safely, and effectively without starving yourself. They are also low in sugars found naturally in fruit and fruit juices making them a healthier option than traditional fruit smoothies and natural juices. 

Leafy green vegetables are full of antioxidants and carotenoids, which boost your brainpower and help protect your brain.  They are also full of B-vitamins, which are proven to help your memory, focus, and overall brain health and function. They are also rich in folic acid, which improves mental clarity.

One of the main reasons many people do not drink the recommended six to eight glasses of water daily is they simply don’t like the taste of plain water. If that describes you, add more water to the mix as you prepare your smoothie.  You’ll be drinking more liquids without even noticing it.  Green veggies contain a lot of folic acids which is a natural antidepressant. The folate contained in greens helps fight memory loss and increases serotonin levels which result in improved moods.  One of the best ways to build the habit is to start now and never stop. The first goal is two days in a row of green smoothies, then 3, then 4, and so on, and so on.

1 Stick Celery

1 Banana or Apple

1 Tsp Ginger paste

2 Dates

1 tsp Almond /Peanut Butter

1 cup Oat Milk
